EKITI STATE GOVERNMENT LAUDS EKITI KETE CANADA FOR HEALTH SECTOR ABUTMENT

 

Governor Kayode Fayemi  of Ekiti State recently inaugurated an ultramodern medical equipment set at the Children Emergency Ward of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH)  donated by t Ekiti kete. The Governor, was represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, during the inauguration ceremony said the equipment would assist the hospital to further deliver standard services to children and make working easy for health workers in the ward.



The equipment inaugurated include: 14 hospital beds, 18 mattresses, two mechanical lifts, one portable ultrasonic ultrasound scanner/machines, 18 infusion regulation machines. Others are: one medical pole, five dual head stethoscopes with cases, and two ultrasound gel with dispensers.

The Governor, Fayemi said that his administration would always provide an enabling environment for development partners, well-meaning Ekiti indigenes within and outside the country to contribute their quota to the development of the state. The governor described the `Ekiti Kete’ in Canada as one of the most vibrant pan-Ekiti organisations abroad always reaching out to the State.

A leader and Board member of the `Ekiti Kete’ team in Canada, Mr. Abosede Adeoye who was in Nigeria during the event, said the group was passionate about the development of their home state, hence, the donation of the medical equipment. He further added that the `Ekiti Kete’ in Canada had donated books to the libraries of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) and computers to all local government councils, awarded scholarships to Ekiti students in public schools and donated wheelchairs to EKSUTH in 2019.

He said that the members of the `Ekiti Kete’ in Canada would not relent in making some gestures in the future.



The EKSUTH Chief Medical Director, Prof. Kayode Olabanji, described Ekiti Kete Canada as great ambassadors, he said they had earlier renovated the Children Emergency Ward and promised to donate equipment which was fulfilled with the shipment and inauguration of the equipment. He called on other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate the Canada-based the `Ekiti Kete’ to make EKSUTH a destination of choice for quality healthcare delivery.

The president  of the association, Mr. Anthony Ademola Adesina in his message at the inauguration ceremony thanked the deputy governor, liaison officer, Mr. Ayo Arigbede for his tenacity and hard work. Appreciated Baba Abosede Adeoye, member, Board of Directors, for fully representing the association at the program. He equally thanked all members who were able to join the event on zoom.



He thanked EKSUTH management for their cooperation towards the success of the initiative and thanked the immediate ex-President, Hon. Olumuyiwa Olaniyan for working passionately towards the realization of the pet project he conceived during his tenure as the President of the Association.

In his gratitude mode, he commended the superb crop of Executive members he has and all members of the association for their support.



Xphrame Media asked the President and Vice president about future social responsibility agendas, They said the project is half way done. We will continue to look for ways to make health care services better for our people in Ekiti through donations of several medical equipment. We will also not limit ourselves to  medical field alone.
